A Super Treat at Ragdale Hall

On a slightly grey day in March I had the pleasure of experiencing treatments at Ragdale Hall as part of their Ultimate Package they offer. After kindly being invited by Ragdale Hall I was very keen to be reminded of how good their venue is and the standard of their treatments still are. I visited Ragdale Hall a number of years ago and haven’t been there since so was very excited!

So here’s what I think of this stunning venue and what we experienced throughout the day. After a short drive I and Sarah from Doll Curves arrived in the morning and had a tour around the venue. It’s truly a stunning place and one thing that I instantly felt was that as soon as you walked through the door you felt relaxed! Maybe it’s all in the mind or perhaps just spa fairies scattering their special relaxing dust around, whichever it is, it’s great!

After having a look at all the areas of the venue from the gym to the restaurants, relaxing areas or the beauty shop, it is clear that the most important thing to Ragdale and their staff which they achieve, is that their guests are relaxed and happy. Every area has been well thought out and really does it’s job.

The outside areas are just beautiful and there is plenty of space to sit and relax in peace. After our tour we then had the opportunity to go to the Thermal Spa area and use the facilities, this is what I was looking forward to, apart from the treatment of course as the pictures I had already seen proved it was going to be lovely. I wasn’t let down, the spa had different relaxing spaces from the thought zone to the colour flow cave and the scented room or the rose sauna, we loved them all. My favourite however is the candle pool which has candles of course and a star-lit ceiling – imagine a candlelit bath time treat at home but a million times better! The Volcanic Salt Bath which has an intense and 100% humid heat.

Let’s not forget the pools!!! The inside one of course is fabulous, the outside one though on a stunning summer evening would be just perfect.

Now onto the even better part, not that what we experienced already wasn’t enough of a treat, we then experienced one of the treatments that is included in the Ultimate Day Package. We both picked the Miracle Facial which I have to say is one of the best I’ve had. The quality of the treatment and the products used are what makes this package stand out as it is all about using the best products to produce some of the best treatments, all delivered by the highest standard of therapists. 10 out of 10 isn’t hard to say!

The food is of course of a very high standard indeed and offers a wide range of dining options from light healthy lunches to afternoon tea and a stunning menu in the restaurant for evening dining. Yum.

So an overview of the Ultimate Day Package that we highly recommend is simply that the experience is one that you will not forget. After trying the canapé’s and champagne as well I can say it’s going to be a perfect end to the package for you. If you want to try and make your own mind up then here is what is included and Ragdale Hall’s very own description.

A Grey Affair

Forget 50 shades of grey, soft grey is one of my absolute favourites when it comes to wedding colours. It’s not a choice that many people may make, however when used alongside other stunning colour tones such as dusky pink, berry tones, peach twists or simple nudes it can shout out, ‘stunning alternative’ to typical wedding colour schemes.

If you want a base colour, a stylish base colour that pops out using a sophisticated look, then look no further. I mean, look at this suit for starters.

Grey can be used for a frosty winter style using colours and textures, such as the ones used in the bouquet below. For a more striking look you can use brighter tones and textures. It really is an all-rounder.

This dress is something that I can only really say WOW to. The colour, tone and intricate detail really are a one off, WOW!

When using this colour I always think it’s best to use it as a main colour, for example, this table setting has the grey overlay/table cloth as it’s base colour with small grey accents being used throughout. The main colour pop is being demonstrated through the flowers, using tones of your chosen colour will add class and style as well as colour interest.

Grey can be used as the main colour to allow the colour to flow, see the beautiful chair décor and wedding cake below, perfect examples of how to use the colour to frame your lovely flower displays.

Just look at this stunning cake made by one of our wonderful friends. Nat from yummy little cakes really has shown how to use grey when making beautiful wedding cakes.

What the experts say – Tina Donovan @ The Progressive Hair Company

So after starting the feature ‘what the experts say’ I am pleased to be writing this next post as it’s great inside knowledge about the best way to look after your luscious locks!

Another fabulous supplier joins the team, The Progressive Hair Company. We are pleased to have worked with on many, many occasions and Tina who has written today’s post really does know her stuff when it comes to hair.

Tina Donovan @ The Progressive Hair Company Top Hair Tips

Let’s take a look how we can look after our hair that little bit better, take it away Tina…..

To look after your hair between salon visits, use a good professional shampoo and conditioner. Quality products mean you can use less product as they are concentrated within the bottle so adding a little water to your shampoo will go a long way. Look out for products with up filters giving you that added bit of protection whatever the weather.

Give your hair an extra treat once a week by investing in a moisturising Masque. This will work deeper in to your cuticle giving your hair moisture and shine, just what your hair deserves. Wrap in a towel and leave for 5-10 minutes whilst soaking in the bath, a good excuse for a little me time!

Detangling hair! This is usually when we mistreat our hair using a brush or, pulling and over and stretching the hair. SLOW down, use either a wide tooth comb or a tangle teaser, these won’t stretch and pull your locks. Section hair into 3, start combing mid length to ends first then work your way from the root to ends. This will keep tangles to a minimum, if needed use a leave in detangle spray to give you a faster tangle free hair.

Friday Friends :) Positively Premier!

Back to Friday’s Friend’s after a family wedding, my sister’s to be precise, and what a lovely day it turned out to be!

This company really has gone from strength to strength with their wedding business, having recently added so many more lines that fit in with todays modern wedding, they are able to help so many clients achieve a great atmosphere.

I can recommend them highly and have at times used many of their products for events we have held. This week’s friends are Premier Weddings & Events and they certainly are premier….

PREMIER WEDDINGS & EVENTS

Ben started Premier Weddings & Events and pretty much was the first person in the industry that I had the pleasure to speak with. To say he was on hand for good advice and support really is an understatement, he really is one of those people who is happy to help.

Meeting like-minded business owners in this industry really is what it’s all about, I like to be able to recommend good people and good businesses, and these guys really are at the top of the list. Friendly and enthusiastic about what they do, with a quality team it’s exciting to see them grow.

For our third year in business we had a lovely party to which Ben provided us with a dance floor and our logo in lights. As you can see by the picture below, it looked very smart. After a little issue with the dress code (bad reading of the invite he told me, I just think he was rebelling! he he) he still managed to help us celebrate the night away.

Well the great thing about premier is what they specialise in, whether you need a DJ, a dance floor, decorative lighting or backdrops they can help with many funky items to set a great scene for your wedding. Recently added to their stock has been an item that seems to be sought after in bucket loads, led furniture. At our recent Eve Lily Wedding Show at Shearsby Bath they produced led spheres that were positioned outside, these completely wowed our guests with how lovely they looked. Check out their web page to see what they can offer you. http://premier-event-services.co.uk/
