With our first Friday Friend feature under our belt it’s only right to carry on with the new tradition of showcasing some of our wonderful wedding friends. As you know I decided to make this a weekly feature, it’s a fun way of getting to know my friends and suppliers that I can highly recommend, as they are some of the best in Leicestershire.
My next friday friend to introduce is a beautiful wedding venue that is so well-known in Leicester that it probably doesn’t need much of an introduction. Today’s post on Friday Friends is the beautiful wedding venue and it’s lovely wedding and events manager, Rachel!….
One of my fondest, first memories about the wedding industry and people I have managed to meet along the way, was when I met Rachel at Shearsby Bath. After launching Eve Lily I decided I really needed to have some sort of launch/showcase so people got to hear about all about us. After an initial contact phone call i went on my merry way to Shearsby to see if I could host it there, as most people know, planning an event of any kind is a big deal. I was in the hands of a venue I didn’t know and so wasn’t sure if they would allow me the scope to make it a launch I wanted.

Well, that’s was of course until I met Rachel and the Shearsby Bath team.
We since went on to host our annual wedding show each year at the venue. The Eve Lily Wedding Show is always a fun event for both guest and suppliers and we are so lucky to have some of Leicestershire’s best wedding suppliers on involved.

It’s a Thursday night and i am still catching up from the weekends events. I had the pleasure of exhibiting at the stunning City Rooms in Leicester on Sunday and it was a great event, hosted by a great group of people with lovely couples in attendance.
If you haven’t found your wedding venue yet and would love a ‘GRAND’ city centre wedding venue, then look no further! I have had the pleasure of spending more time at this lovely venue of late, first with Eve Lily’s 3rd Birthday Party and since styling photo shoots, all soon to be revealed! (A little squeal of excitement every time i mention this, as the pictures are just amazing! Thanks to Sarah Salotti that is).
I’m not sure which part is my favourite about this venue, I think it may have something to do with the overall class and opulence the ballroom, bar and the grand staircase just ooze! See for yourself.
I am very much looking forward to meeting with the couples I have spoken to since Sunday, as I can’t wait to get chatting about weddings! As always there were the usual fun crowd of suppliers in attendance, some of which we get to see quite a lot which makes us very lucky.
One of our new friends also attended and I am so pleased we know them as they are just fabulous when it comes to pampering you! As everyone know’s when it comes to, day to day life we rarely get time to pamper ourselves, maybe the odd foot massage or manicure if we are lucky. We all know we should take more care of ourselves but life just seems to get in the way! Well when it comes to weddings this bad habit needs to change. as on your wedding day there is nothing more important than looking and feeling your best!
If you don’t already know of the Retreat Spa in Oadby then go check them out, Dawn and Faye are just fabulous and will make sure you feel a million dollars on every visit, I can certainly vouch for that, as I have had the pleasure of some amazing treatments from them. Their relax, restore and revive saying is 100% the company through and through.
I will be letting you know more about this fab beauty spa soon, in the meantime get on the phone and see just what i am talking about!
Here’s a big ching, ching to our first Friday Friends feature. I decided to make this a weekly feature as its a fun way of getting to know my friends and suppliers that I can highly recommend as they are some of the best in Leicestershire. I genuinly love meeting new suppliers that I can get to know and hopefully get to class them as friends in the future. Well its a new feature that requires a bit of old school friends to get us started, I decided that I really have to introduce you to one of my very first suppliers that I met a few years ago and loved what they were about from day one.
My first post on Friday Friends is the lovely company that is……
TICKLED PINK WEDDING STATIONERY
I am lucky to have been able to count Nikki as one of my loveliest friends from the start of my adventure in the wedding industry. We met at my first wedding fayre and struck up a friendship from day one, our love of weddings, creativity, positivity as well as wine have all helped in keeping this lovely friendship going over the years.
Nikki and Tom have been running TP for 7 years. Nikki has been a stationery designer since graduating from a design degree and Tom is a meticulous maker who packed in his job and joined TP in its 4th year to help Nikki with her growing business. Nikki and Tom are a married couple team, and are truly, lovely people.
I love the textured, colourful, fun designs that Tickled Pink offer, Nikki’s personality really shows through in her designs. A business that you can rely on to supply you with wonderful wedding stationery for your special day.
Here are just a few of their fun and quirky designs that couples just love.
Bye bye to 2012……..which ended in a wedding whirlwind, it was our best year yet with some fantastic weddings and lovely clients, plus a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed birthday party!

I decided to say thank you to all my friends who have been a part of Eve Lily from the start, family, friends and lovely suppliers (who are now friends) from the wedding industry plus my wonderful clients, past and present.
It was a lovely night, held at the stunningly beautiful City Rooms in Leicester. If you know the venue then you will be aware that it’s just a perfect ballroom to hold such an event, if you don’t, then I suggest you take a peek. I was lucky to have the wonderful Rebecca and her band perform some beautiful songs, including Moon River of course!
Themed as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the guys looked very swish whilst the girls made such a wonderful effort by either looking glam or arriving dressed as Audrey, just perfect! Obviously I had to make an effort being the host and so I played dress up and tried my hardest to become Audrey for the night, with the help of my good friend Beth from Bettie Lottie Make Up of course. I even had a birthday cake which as you can see it was just beautiful, courtesy of the lovely Melody from Melody Cakes.
